(UNDATED) On Nov. 5, voters in seven states will consider measures that would affect the way hunters pursue their prey.

Here’s a state-by-state rundown:

ALASKA: A ballot initiative seeks to prohibit so-called”land and shoot”practices, in which hunters in airplanes chase wolves until the animals are exhausted and then shoot them upon landing. The measure, which applies to hunting wolves, fox, lynx and wolverines, would impose a 24-hour waiting period between the time a plane lands and a hunter is allowed to shoot.

COLORADO: A measure would ban leghold and other body-gripping traps.

IDAHO: A ballot initiative would ban the hunting of black bears in the spring and outlaw the use of hounds to hunt bears.

MASSACHUSETTS: A measure would ban leg-hold or body-gripping traps; outlaw the use of hounds to hunt bears or bobcats and eliminate a state requirement that hunters and trappers dominate the state Fisheries and Wildlife Board.

MICHIGAN: A ballot initiative would ban the use of hounds to hunt bears.

OREGON: A measure would repeal an existing ban on the use of bait and hounds to hunt bears.

WASHINGTON: A ballot initiative would ban bear-baiting and the use of hounds to hunt bears, cougars, bobcats and lynx.
