NEW YORK (RNS) Pope John Paul II will move one step closer to sainthood when he is beatified during an elaborate Vatican ceremony on Sunday (May 1). While the Roman Catholic Church has held up heroes, patrons, intercessors and spiritual companions for centuries, the path to sainthood is never easy or quick. “The lives of […]

  1. I think its ironic that the catholic church makes such a ‘do’ over naming a man in their religious movement and no doubt an icon for centuries to come but remember this; The Apostle Paul from the New Testament and even his Brothers chosen by Christ Himself always called the people in the churches “saints”.
No doubt this name sounds ‘elevated’ to a point of such high religiousity that its difficult for many to comprehend where they actually stand as people who are born again through the blood of Jesus Christ.
So scriptures clearly teach that all those born into Gods kingdom through Jesus Christ are ‘saints’.
Christ makes us holy and Christ will come again someday for the church and this includes all the saints who have ‘confessed their sins through Jesus Christ’ (by His Spirit) and to be home forevermore.
I think its good to see people admire their leaders and lift them to a high esteem and this is what Jesus done for the poor and lowly and all those Jesus called Saints.
Even the Prophet Daniel spoke of the “saints of the most high” Daniel
    7:22.
From the New Testament Philemon 1:5 speaks of the ‘faith of the saints’.
the Saints are those who have given their lives, their blood for the cause of the gospel of Jesus Christ as Revelation 17:6 reads.
Colossians 1:4 tells of the saints in the kingdom of light.
1 Timothy 5:10 tells about washing the feet of the saints.
Ephesians 1:15 tells of the saints faith.
then finally just another of many verses is Revelation 8:4 tells of the prayers of the saints.

This is no mystery friends, this is a fact of scripture and God the father through His Son Jesus Christ will lift and elevate all those on that great judgment day and it shouldn’t be done here because it was Jesus who was lifted on the Cross of Calvary and Him alone who deserves this High Respect. All other men, women should stand in awe of the cross.
