Anne Marie Roderick of God’s Politics Blog talks about “Yoga Sabbath,” or “Shabat Shal-OM! (get it? eh? eh? See, it’s funny because Om is the a sacred syllable/symbol/word in the Dharmic or Indian religions like Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism and Shabat is part of the Jewish tradit-oh nevermind).

CNN reports that Muslim superhero comic books – which got some attention last year after President Obama called them ‘”the most innovative response’ to America’s expanding dialogue with the Muslim world'” – are meeting resistance in the U.S. Apparently, some folks are offended by the fact that one of the superheroes fights while wearing a burqa.


Speaking of Muslim attire, looks like three Muslims sisters living in London, Ontario hare fed up with negative stereotypes associated with Muslim women who wear traditional head coverings – hijabs. Thus, they decided to do what everyone who wants to express themselves does these days: make a Tumblr blog! They call it “Hijabis doing things!” where you can find – you guessed it – images of women in hijabs âÂ?¦doing things!
