When you hear the word “hipster,” you probably think of many things. V-neck shirts. Awkward mustaches. Flannel. Odd musical tastes. Urban Outfitters. Misuse of the word “ironic.”

But now we all apparently have to add another word to that list: Amish.

Hear me out: The idea isn’t actually all that far fetched. The internet already has a tumblr blog where you get to guess whether someone is Amish or just a hipster.

And now the evidence is starting to compound. The LA Times has a fresh story about a woman who grew up Amish and ended up a hipster hairdresser. And while the Amish don’t tweet, we’re starting to see things like this:

Face it folks: the Amish are cooler than the rest of us.

Not to be outdone, it looks like evangelical Christians are clamoring to acclaim the coolness of high-profile Christian stars like Justin Bieber and Time Tebow. But are young Christian celebrities actually making Christianity cool? Well, that depends on how you feel about Justin Bieber’s new Jesus tattoo. Because calves are the coolest.

But not every religion needs football or tattoos or horse-and-buggies to be “cool.” Jon Heder, star of that-was-funny-but-what-the-heck-did-I-just-watch cult classic Napoleon Dynamite, apparently turned down several raunchier movie roles because of his Mormon faith. Take a note, kids: you don’t need to sell your soul to be cool. You just need to dress ridiculously and yell non sequiturs at poor, unsuspecting llamas.

Finally, your Video of the Day comes the Muppets. Because if there is anyone cooler than the Amish, it’s the Muppets.
