VATICAN CITY (RNS) The butler who is under arrest for stealing Pope Benedict XVI's secret papers was known by everyone as a devout and good man. And as the investigation continues, few believe he may have acted alone. By Alessandro Speciale.

  1. The butler is still “a devout and good man” since he is acting to expose the rot within the Vatican. And that rot starts at the top!

  2. Notice they say Gabriele was in “illicit” possession of secret papers, not “illegal” possession. Then go ask a good Jesuit to explain the good Catholic difference between “illicit” and “illegal”
