WASHINGTON (RNS) The head of the Family Research Council accused the Southern Poverty Law Center of sparking hatred that led Floyd Lee Corkins II to shoot a security guard at the conservative Christian lobbying group’s headquarters. By Chris Lisee.

  1. Religious groups like the Family Research Center always have an excuse absolving religious people from their evil acts. They casually gloss over all the evil in the history of religion, acting as if none of it ever happened, even as if they themselves aren’t are development of the Reformation which was the most powerful rupture in Christianity today. There were many, but that should be sufficient for people like Tony Perkins to stop pointing a finger at others and kneel in confession and penance for all the evils that are still practiced by Christians in their own group and others, especially toward non-Christians. It’s called scape-goating.

  2. Boy was I wrong. I thought the NRA and the legislatures who passed conceal and carry laws were the ones who armed the shooter. Who would have ever guessed that SPLC was to blame?
