(RNS) “First Baptist is a church built on the truth of Scripture, even though at times that approach can be perceived as controversial or counter to the prevailing winds of culture.” — First Baptist Church of Dallas, in a statement reported by The Dallas Morning News, after quarterback Tim Tebow decided not to appear at […]

  1. Thank you Pastor for standing firm on the truth of scripture and our obligation to follow it in every aspect of our lives. Jesus said we would not be popular with society for our adherence to his teachings and for being followers and believers in the name of Jesus. In fact he said we would be persecuted for it. The world hates the name of Jesus because it is the power unto life. It is the name above all names and is subject no man nor his beliefs. It wasn’t that long ago that even those who weren’t Christians understood the difference between right and wrong. They may not have been disciples of Christ but they were not disrespectful of Him. Now they openly mock him and us in their feeble attempt to justify their own sin. We are truly living our Romans 1:28. This is the only explanation for the blindness and open hostility to Jesus that we are seeing now. Even so Lord come.

  2. Paul Stephens said it so well. I read a comment on the story that Dr. Jeffress put Judism in with false religions, “from the pits of Hell,” which I must have missed him saying. True reporters would gather the facts first before making a quote of something that was never said. We live in a sinful world just as others before us, such as Daniel. Our culture today allows offensive sketches about Christ and condems the spoken truth of pastors.

  3. As the foundation of our society which is biblical values deteriorates, those very values are viewed as extreme. What has stood the test of time for thousands of years is now being undermined from every direction, but may we understand clearly that God is not mocked and whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap. Thank you Pastor Jeffress’ for you faithfulness in standing on the eternal Word of our God. God is watching and He will one day settle the score. May Jesus receive the full reward of His suffering, that people may saved, and that God would receive all the glory! Amen!

Pastor Jeffress, thank you for your clear and unyielding stand for biblical truth. I am grateful for your willingness to stand against the tide of depravity sweeping our nation. God bless you and your church.

  5. Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the public squares, and uprightness cannot enter. Isaiah 59:14.

How sad that so many are afraid of men’s faces rather than the Face of God! Never the less, when life is over the only one they will have to face is God!

Pastor Jeffreys is one of the most Biblical pastor in the pulpit and faces the issues that are literally destroying lives and families while others preach a message that tickles the ears but never changes anyone.

  6. I too am a God fearing Christian with a heart full of love for all of the people in the world. I stand with Dr Jeffress 100% on sharing what is true. John 17-17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.

  7. Articles like the one written by Gregg Doyel, on February 18, 2013, reflecting his biased accusations, name calling and personal insults hurled at Dr. Robert Jeffress only serve to increasingly motivate me to distrust the news media as a cheap source of propaganda. Reckless reporting from those with an axe to grind cause me to long for the day when facts were thoroughly researched and reported without a bias or a personal motive. Not only did the author of this article severely misquote and twist what Dr. Jeffress teaches at First Baptist Dallas, Doyel has all but cited a rally of the masses to throw stones at anyone who would support Dr. Jeffress. Irresponsible reporting is the ultimate form of hate and inexcusable intolerance. Shame on CBS for allowing this garbage and stooping so low as to call this news, much less responsible reporting. Going forward, I am signing off from CBS news!

  8. I was curious if you ever considered changing the structure of your blog?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so
people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two
images. Maybe you could space it out better?
