I think you are right. Ther personality of Cardinal Dolan would subject the church to even more ridicule around the world. Sort of like a Catholic version of George Bush. Too much bluster and needing to seems like “one of the guys”. I don’t doubt he is committed to the church, but IMO, we need someone with more gravitas.
