JERSEY CITY, N.J. (RNS) With the Statue of Liberty as a backdrop, the “Nuns on the Bus” on Wednesday kicked off a cross-country tour for immigration reform aimed at giving a faith-based push to legislation that is hanging in the balance in Congress.

These women of faith are doing what many of us would love to do – “doing justice.” I met them last summer and am impressed with thier understanding of “caring for the alien in our midst,” and being a voice for “the least among us”. You go girls! People of faith and God go with you. Peace!

Holy Cow! Look at that bus!!!! What does THAT cost? Someone is not following Francis’s concept of a “poor church for the poor.” Hey nuns, did you know Francis has a 30 year old Renault? Better for you to be traveling the country in an old 80s era yellow school bus with no air conditioning? No?
