WASHINGTON (RNS) As 45 states implement new Common Core education standards this fall, some Christians see the heavy hand of government in the state-led goal posts for K-12 students in English and mathematics.

  1. All this despite the fact that the federal Constitution does not give the federal government any authority regarding education, which was to be left to the states, as is indicated in the Tenth Amendment.

  2. ‘Three-quarters (77 percent) of teachers who teach math or English language arts believe the standards will have a positive impact on critical thinking and reasoning skills, according to a study done by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Only 1 percent believe it will have a negative impact.’

    well there ye have it then… facts facts facts !!!

    seriously folks…. saying one believes something has nothing to do with validity of a proposition…..
