“As a Catholic follower of Jesus and the pope, Pope Francis, I am clear that our Catholic religious doctrine has at its core love, compassion and justice for all people.”

— Illinois state Rep. Linda Chapa LaVia, a Catholic who voted to legalize same-sex marriage in Illinois, invoking Pope Francis’ “who am I to judge?” comments about homosexuality. She was quoted by the Chicago Tribune.

  1. Somebody, please point out to Rep. LaVia the numerous statements by Pope Francis that the fundamental doctrines of the church will not be changed. She has taken the pope’s “Who am I to judge” completely out of context. But of course!

Liberals are liberals first of all and, if necessary, to the exclusion of everything else. Democrat leadership in the U.S. House and Senate is dominated by “Catholics.” These same ‘Catholics” have whipped their respective caucuses into line, refusing to permit any legislation that would modify current abortion law They are fully behind every effort to eliminate religion from the public square, contrary to the words of the Constitution itself.

As I said, these people are liberals–“progressives”– first, foremost, and only.
