(RNS) In a new National Geographic series, an international team of archaeologists, forensic anthropologists and facial reconstruction experts has tried to recreate the faces of three adults and a newborn whose skeletal remains date back to biblical times.

  1. Why focus on these remains when a skull that is supposedly (per papal sanction) Mary Magdalene’s earthly remains is on public display in France?

    A guy who might once have met Jesus isn’t exactly a ‘lost face of the bible’. But one of Jesus closest friends? Now that’s a ‘lost face of the bible’ – someone actually IN the bible.
