VATICAN CITY (RNS) Church leaders welcome the reforms and fresh air that Pope Francis is bringing to an often dysfunctional institution. But at 77, they just want him to have the stamina to keep it up.

    Dysfunctional is right. The Roman Catholic church is not preaching the right gospel.

    • The Roman Catholic Church preaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ. All of us as the children of God can only try to live it as best we can. Judge not lest you be judged. “All of us” includes clergy and everyone connected with the administration of the Church.

  2. They should not worry about how long Pope Francis will be pope. Throughout history the majority of popes have not served extremely long terms. He will be pope for as long as God wants him there and when it is time for another, there will be one. This is a God oriented ministry, being pope, it is not man made or man willed.
