(RNS) As complaints near record highs, the EEOC is making its guidelines for religious workplace accommodation elaborately clear.

  1. The U.S. is becoming more diverse. I am happy to see people exercising their rights, and I am glad the courts are enforcing the laws that protect them. Diversity is the spice of life, and we are all better off for it.

I support this; however, I do understand that there are certain limits-I am Sikh (hair unshorn, with beard), what I am concerned about is that there could be a religious-based affirmative action(which is good and all,) but when that legislation would be passed(it probably will and should-only required to hire one member of a religion) I feel like people would be converting to religions they don’t truly believe in to get by-such as Sikhism,(hair not cut) I feel like they should follow certain rules; however, accommodate if it won’t effect a job-such as the danger of a beard in a factory. Fashion should not be exempt for this not allowing accommodation, I support the new rules of religious accommodation and hope it goes further (prayer time)
