(RNS) The Mormons appear to be purging from within, an Oklahoma candidate is cool with stoning the gays, and Pat Robertson doesn't want a kid to get his dad "busted." All that and more in today's Roundup.

  1. “Fun fact: Attorneys in Canada are apparently called “benchers.” Who knew?”

That might be funny, if it were a fact. The term “benchers” only refers to a select number of lawyers that help govern the BC Law Society.

The vote that just occurred was after a special meeting called by regular members of the Law Society to ask the Benchers to reconsider their earlier decision and not approve the Christian law school. BC lawyers who voted overwhelming approved that motion. The Benchers now have one year in which to reconsider whether or not to approve that school.

The story about the Oklahoma Tea Partier is kind of “dog bites man,” isn’t it? I just start with the assumption that Republicans in general and Tea Partiers in particular are OK with executing gays.
