WATCH: Live projection of photographs onto the façade and cupola of Saint Peter’s Basilica. The images are by some of the world’s great photographers. These illuminations, presented for the opening of the Catholic Church’s Year of Mercy on Dec. 8, focus on images of the natural world. Pope Francis hopes they will inspire people — and negotiators at the climate change conference in Paris — to battle global warming and protect the environment.
