Romney Does Liberty

It's no wonder that Mitt Romney won plaudits from evangelical bigwigs for his commencement speech at Liberty University on Saturday. It showed he's learned how to talk to them--or at least, learned to listen to the people who know how he's supposed to talk to them.

The Godless Gap

The latest Gallup poll shows just how much Mitt Romney has to make up for his party's having thrown its lot in with conservative religion. For while very religious voters support him by a 17-point margin, 54-37, the non-religious support President Obama by almost twice as much, 61-30. And those in the middle, the moderately religious, back the president by 14 points.

Will Romney Have to Discuss His Faith?

South Baptist Policy Pooh-Bah Richard Land, whom Princeton should have taught not to pilfer other peoples' prose, had the chutzpah to suggest last week that any media outlet that set about explaining the religion of GOP presidential nominee-presumptive Mitt Romney (i.e. Mormonism) to its readers is ipso facto in the tank for President Obama.
