Two former members of the Bush administration who had overseen parts of the president’s “faith-based intitiative,” wrote an op-ed last week that was critical of the program.

Yesterday, The NYT printed responses from the head of that office, Jay Hein, as well as letters from Barry Lynn head of Americans United for SeparationâÂ?¦, the general counsel of the American Jewish Committee and the president of the Secular Humanist Society of New York. To say the op-ed, and the program itself, has struck a nerve is an understatement.
