Sen. Barack Obama has talked with David Brody of Christian Broadcasting Network’s “The Brody File” about his June 10 meeting with religious leaders.

Obama said he quoted the late President Ronald Reagan, who told evangelicals at a 1980 meeting: “I know you can’t endorse me, but I endorse you.”

Speaking to Brody on Tuesday, Obama said he was not counting on the votes of the faith leaders with whom he met but he hopes he can work with them if he becomes president.

“None of these folks may vote for me, but I want them to know that there’s a possibility of me working with them to advance common goals.”
