Lutheran pastor Stuart Dornfeld up in Brandon, Wis., either has a lot of time on his hands or some misdirected creativity-he recently spent six months creating a replica of his Emmanuel Lutheran Church out of 12,000 legos.

From Sharon Roznik at the Reporter of Fond du Lac:

“The model church measures 27 inches tall, 48 inches long and 17 inches wide and includes 30 pews (to seat 150 Lego people), 15 stained-glass windows, two pianos and one organ. A detailed altar boasts a tiny candelabra with flames, a baptismal font and a preacher in a robe made out of a white sock. “Some of the things I had to think long and hard about how I could come up with something. I would lay awake at night trying to figure things out,” he said.

Dornfeld says he undertook the project to try to “de-stress.” Anyone who’s ever built a Lego set (or an Ikea coffee table) might tell you otherwise.
