ST. PAUL, Minn.-Recent polls suggest that Sen. John McCain’s Catholic foot troops face a daunting task in winning the Catholic vote this fall for the Arizona Republican. Projected polling gives Democratic nominee Barack Obama 47 percent of the Catholic vote, compared to 42 percent for McCain, according to an Aug. 21st report by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life.
