Archbishop Peter Akinola, head of the Anglican Church of Nigeria and a major force in the conservative reconfiguring of Anglicanism, has evaded the media since his comments on gays, and later, Muslims, inspired some hand-wringing by his American supporters.

But an evangelical from England caught up with Akinola, who was grounded at a hotel near Heathrow Airport. In this interview, which is undated but presumably recent since he refers to summertime Anglican developments, we get to hear the archbishop talk about biblical truth, the problem with liberal Christians, and how to turn criticism into body lotion and rub it all over your body.
