Ah, the end of days …

So, here we are on Election Night, and it’s just about over. A quick look back at where we’ve been, courtesy of the GOP:

Mike Huckabee: Christian Leader. Whether he believe in evolution. On what WWJD. That “senior pastor” part on his reume.

Mitt Romney: Mormon underwear. A “values voter” endorsement that didn’t have much staying power. His don’t-hold-it-against-me-that-I’m-a-Mormon speech.

John McCain: John Hagee and Rod Parsley. A non-endorsement from James Dobson. Oh, never mind. A little chat with Rick Warren about abortion, gay marriage and his first (failed) marriage. On whether he’s a Baptist or Episcopalian. A largely unspoken faith journey. His view that America is a “Christian nation.” His kiss-and-make-up with Jerry Falwell. His distaste for a Muslim president.

Sarah Palin: Witchcraft. Sitting through a Jews for Jesus sermon. On putting the election “in God’s hands.”

Fred Thompson: (Not) attending church. Dobson: Is he a Christian or isn’t he?

Rudy Guiliani: A “More than Acceptable” endorsement from Pat Robertson. You have nothing to fear in me. His divorce record “on steroids.”

And don’t forget Republican Elizabeth Dole vs. the “godless” Kay Hagan. Guess that one didn’t work out so much.
