Bloggers are kind of in business to offend people, and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement (or, in Hebrew, “atonements”), is when when Jews are supposed to ask the forgiveness of those they’ve offended. So I’d like to ask the forgiveness of all I’ve offended in this space. Of course, as the Mishnah says, you don’t gain atonement for sins committed against fellow human beings unless you’ve actually made amends with them–and I don’t know who most of you are. Plus I can’t really promise a less offensive performance next year. Not that anyone’s forcing you to read this. But anyway, here goes: I’m sorry.
