Benefit Corporations – For-profit companies with the mission of creating both profits for their investors and long-term value for their communities, their workers and the environment. Lucky Severson reports that there are now more than a thousand so-called B-Corporations, with laws in some states allowing them to pursue their twin goals without the risk of being sued by shareholders who might be interested only in profits.
