Homeless Female Veterans – Finding homes and dignity for the thousands of single, female veterans, some of them single mothers. One woman calls the neglect of many female veterans “America’s Natural Disaster.” Correspondent Bob Faw reports on an effort in Alexandria, Virginia to treat female veterans as well as many of them say male veterans are treated.  It’s called “Final Salute.”

Vaccinating Children – Refusing to vaccinate children against measles.  A conversation with Kevin Eckstrom, editor-in-chief of Religion News Service.

Inoculation Ethics – As evidenced by the current measles breakout, contagious diseases once thought eradicated are coming back in epidemic numbers nationally. Dr. John Snyder, a pediatrician in Amherst, Mass says the rising number of cases are due to parents delaying or forbidding their children’s vaccinations. “These are diseases that frequently hospitalized, disfigured, permanently damaged or killed children on a regular basis,” said Dr. Snyder. Deborah Potter reports on this growing public health problem and its ethical and religious implications.
